Tiger Mom says some cultures fail, some succeed. Those that succeed have certain attributes. Mainly hard work. But “The left does not want to deal with the question of why some people succeed and others fail since its entire ideological infrastructure is built around the argument of unequal access. Individuals don’t fail, progressives from Obama to Bill de Blasio insist, social institutions fail them.” — http://sultanknish.blogspot.com/2014/01/why-people-fail.html

Unemployment benefits create jobs, right? – “In its latest working paper, the well respected National Bureau of Economic Research (NBER), the organization that determines when recessions officially begin and end, reports, “Most of the persistent increase in unemployment during the Great Recession can be accounted for by the unprecedented extensions of unemployment benefit eligibility.” The NBER calculates that these extensions have kept unemployment 3.6 percentage points higher than it would have been without the extensions. According to the study, “During the Great Recession, unemployment benefits have been on average at 82.5 weeks for approximately 16 quarters. … Translating this to rates, we would predict a rise in unemployment from 5% to 8.6%.” — http://patriotpost.us/articles/22768

I don’y say that I agree with the Fox New Special entitlement nation because I did not see it. This article is full of accusations which reflect good issues to be concerned about.  When the author references Russel brand as having the proper suggestion as to how I proceed, he lost my totally.  His solution is pure socialism.  I am convinced that socialism will only make those poor people poorer and the rich will still be rich.  We need to focus our energy on more positive results as a society. The web site is interesting though and he has a list of blogs that are fascinating in their approaches — http://frugaling.org/fox-news-class-warfare/

At a federal hearing on peer-to-peer networks, the statement was about about how these should be regulated. Bill & Melinda Gates  “call foreign aid a phenomenal investment that’s transforming the world.”.  This may be true but when the government makes the investment they first have to prevent someone else from making a different investment.  I don’t think that have the right to take the money in the first place.
