Interesting history info on labor unions. I’m guessing the union movement is one of the more complex histories politically —http://www.redstate.com/2014/01/13/the-uaw-at-vw-a-desperate-old-dog-tries-a-very-old-and-illegal-trick/

Found this interesting Morning News summary on Cincinnati City Beat. Online news sources are getting pretty good in how the present news to facilitate easy scanning of news while still absorbing the essence of the event — http://citybeat.com/cincinnati/blog-5426-morning_news_and_stuff.html

Cincinnati City Council has been interesting to watch. A Democratic coalition has a small margin of control —http://citybeat.com/cincinnati/blog-5429-city_council_tackles_progressive_agenda.html

Cincy Bike Share – interesting idea but I hope that government stays out of it — http://www.wcpo.com/news/local-news/cincy-bike-share-planners-still-need-funds-to-launch-what-they-say-will-be-a-boon-to-getting-around

Interesting article on one idea to blend public and religious based education in a public high school education —http://www.dispatch.com/content/stories/local/2014/01/16/bill-seeks-church-schooling-credits.html

Amazon drone delivery – 30 min delivery from time or order within 10 miles from fulfillment center for less than 5 pounds – Fascinating! — http://www.bizjournals.com/cincinnati/blog/2013/12/amazons-delivery-drones-could-be.html

I found this article generally correct. Drones have gotten a bad rap in the public eye. They can be fabulous in so many good ways, but the mass implementation of these ideas will be a tangle of other issues, legal, social & technical. —  http://www.bizjournals.com/cincinnati/news/2014/01/15/uc-doesnt-want-you-to-fear-the-dawn.html

I don’t argue with this. I agree with much, but this is not a Republican problem. It exists by which ever party is in power at the moment. I would love to see an historical analysis of election manipulation. This articles says that Democrats and libertarians don’t like the actions of Gov Kasich. I would add that the conservatives don’t like it either. Personal friends of mine are fighting this battle INSIDE the Republican Party. — http://citybeat.com/cincinnati/article-29453-republicans_continue_hindering_access_to_the_ballot.html

USA has been declining in economic freedom for 2 decades.

The streetcar supporters seem to have a plan and a strategy. Not every rail project must meet that strategy. I’d like to see what the over “plan” for rail in Cincinnati. I’m guessing my conservative and libertarian friends would have some property rights concern as they do with all comprehensive wide area planning. The acceptance or rejection of such planning is a key difference between the mind sets of many political battles. — http://citybeat.com/cincinnati/article-29457-streetcar_supporters_oppose_oasis_rail_line.html

Tips for door to door campaigning. I saw a demo of voter gravity and was very impressed. As data mining techniques mature even a single citizen can achieve interesting results as a community activist. The online world will change our lives for good & bad. — http://votergravity.com/door-to-door-campaigning/

Wow. Dayton Pine Club. Named by NYT as one of 10 greatest eating establishment in the WORLD. —http://mobile.nytimes.com/blogs/tmagazine/2013/12/06/food-matters-10-of-the-worlds-greatest-old-dining-institutions/?_r=0

I agree with the principle of this resolution. I’m not so sure about the political effect on an uninvolved electorate that is largely not engaged, does not vote in other than major elections and is subject to massive misinformation campaigns by organized, funded and manipulative political organizations with an agenda based on political power & fear. —http://www.dispatch.com/content/stories/local/2014/01/15/bipartisan-proposal-would-allow-recall-votes.html

Avoiding an image on impropriety is a fundamental tenet of a law license. Government investigations should have the same tenet, but not where politics is involved. Our response should be that the more the image reeks of impropriety the harder the political opposition should press for sneers. — http://m.youtube.com/watch?v=VHJt-fd55e4&desktop_uri=%2Fwatch%3Fv%3DVHJt-fd55e4

Former Ohio representative Steve LaTourette is the croniest power hungry politician I have ever had the displeasure of being the same room with. If you are one of those average citizens without connections to powerful partners, this guy will NOT help you. — http://www.redstate.com/2014/01/14/the-republican-main-street-partnership-is-democrat-funded/

Republicans need to articulate its anti-poverty views if they expect to be part of the conversation. They have ideas so talk about them to counteract a prevailing view that they are cold heartless people.

I totally agree with this. The first analysis is to cancel entire programs in every major budget category and department. The we can implement the Penny Plan where every budget line is reduced by 1% each year for 10 years. These are real cuts from today’s budget not a cut to an ever increasing baseline budget. — http://blog.heritage.org/2014/01/14/want-spending-reduced-support-cutting-favorite-government-program/?utm_source=facebook&utm_medium=social

True. A new company can NOT fix bad code. This must start over from the original starting point. — http://www.caintv.com/healthcare.gov-michelles-frien

Libertarian political status will rise for great reasons some of which I strongly support on principle. The current political powers will be surprised at how this new activism will enfold. — http://www.ft.com/intl/cms/s/0/cc9a31b8-7928-11e3-b381-00144feabdc0.html?siteedition=uk#axzz2qf3dfkOj

I love to see creative people pursue creative applications to solve problems for real people. Special contact lenses to monitor blood sugar levels in diabetics via the tears and sending the data wirelessly to a device —http://www.ft.com/intl/cms/s/0/61d71492-7f11-11e3-a2a7-00144feabdc0.html#axzz2qf3dfkOj

The technology to conduct flash mobs is everywhere but the intersection with long standing problems with “mob” psychology and dynamics worry me. The issue being protested is often in the eye of the beholder and dynamic action is driven by different views about the same information. I see these as a tool for protest, but a dangerous tool prone to manipulation by those who benefit from disruption that can be focused to a certain place at a certain time. —http://www.ft.com/intl/cms/s/0/324b63b6-7ebe-11e3-a2a7-00144feabdc0.html#axzz2qf3dfkOj

Sen Mike Lee has a great idea to open up higher education to more people. This same strategy is already filtered into high school & community college interactions, esp. with home schoolers that take advantage of schedule options in multiple sources of education. — http://www.lee.senate.gov/public/index.cfm?p=higher-education-reform-and-college-opportunity

This is a very serious argument. Technology exists to monitor a computer even if it is not connected to the internet by wireless. NSA insists it is used only against foreign intelligence requirements. But if members of our government, esp. The Commander in chief, disrespect the letter of the constitution in public will they be willing to do it behind the black curtain of top secret classification. – You Bet!! — http://ronpaulinstitute.org/archives/featured-articles/2014/january/16/judge-napolitano-on-nsa-using-radio-waves-to-track-and-attack-computers.aspx

The global agenda, collectivist mindset of central planning and the utter conceit that these men & women can build, manage and operate a sustainable political system on which all their policies rest breaks my brain apart. As their plans begin to fail in a very dynamic way, bad things will happen somewhere, somehow and in multiple ways. What will be the result? I don’t know, but I get worried thinking about my past days in East Germany, USSR and all around the iron curtain captive countries. — http://gulagbound.com/42095/trans-pacific-partnership-agenda-21-redistribution-of-wealth-via-cap-trade/

I agree: NEOCONS make diplomacy impossible. — http://thelibertarianrepublic.com/rand-paul-slams-gop-isolationists/#axzz2qVrosGwA

I have who on Voter Integrity Projects – they themselves are persons of integrity and would NEVER stop a legitimate voter from being properly registered. The voter roles must be as accurate as possible. The other half of this issue is voter ID which is equally important! — http://ohiovoterintegrityproject.org/sixty-two-people-dropped-from-hamilton-county-voter-rolls/

Rand Paul is a unique man from a unique family. Philosophically he may the right man in the right place at the right time. Need time to study this man. — http://www.buzzfeed.com/andrewkaczynski/rand-pauls-college-newspaper-writings-reveal-he-hasnt-change

The need for and use of a government issued ID is so pervasive to our society that using it to make food stamp purchases seems essential. This would also be a good way to ensure that disadvantaged people have an ID to use for voting and all other things. Getting the ID could be a payment over & above their food stamp allotment. — http://watchdog.org/124280/food-stamps-vitter/
