The religious mandate for contraception will not derail Obamacare. I could argue it was put it in order to absorb the energy of those who complain about Obamacare. While people focus on a specific issue that is so easy to fix the system is burying itself into the public & private bureaucracies everywhere. Instead we should focus our energy on the total package and combating the total mass of misinformation. I don’t know what will come out at the end of this process but it will be an ugly journey that will end with people exhausted politically and frustrated emotionally as our freedoms erode. — http://www.newsmax.com/newswidget/sonia-sotomayor-contraception-obamacare/2014/01/02/id/544924?promo_code=12CCD-1&utm_source=tea%20party%20nation&utm_medium=nmwidget&utm_campaign=widgetphase1

So true. Time will tell what happens in NYC. In the near term (if we don’t have a financial meltdown), NYC will prosper along with an improving economy and any negative policy impacts will be hidden. Those hoping to see these negatives effects in time to stop his reelection are likely to be disappointed. Populists don’t have to be right or even truthful – only popular! Think President Obama! — http://www.newsmax.com/newswidget/deblasio-noonan-divider/2014/01/03/id/545042?promo_code=12CCD-1&utm_source=tea%20party%20nation&utm_medium=nmwidget&utm_campaign=widgetphase1

Confessions of a Big Business Big Government Establishment Republican: He doesn’t care about the citizen – only the businesses that feed at the federal trough with him as their power broker. — “Mitch McConnell, Senate Republican leader, confessed to big business bureaucrats that he and other Establishment Republicans want to remain their link to government money and favors. According to a Wall Street Journal story (December 16), he asked them to open their wallets lest his kind be overwhelmed—not by Democrats, but by those smelly little Tea Party conservatives—the real threats to the government spending and regulations by which big business thrives.” — He doesn’t care about the individual citizen, small business or other governments beside the big federal government. He must go. — http://www.independent.org/newsroom/article.asp?id=4835

“We are at a very dangerous point in our history. The traditional bulwarks against tyranny have been degraded or eliminated, and a police state infrastructure has been erected in the shadows. All it takes is the right crisis, and this infernal machine roars to life, probably to the cheers of the masses.” — http://www.lewrockwell.com/2014/01/glenn-jacobs/necessity-the-argument-of-tyrants/

IRS abuse. “But as long as the federal tax code is incomprehensible to most Americans, the IRS will continue to have vast power over its targets. And we cannot expect politicians to fix the problem as long as they expect to profit from the IRS’s machinations. But, as Alexander Hamilton, later the nation’s first secretary of the treasury, warned in 1782, “Whatever liberty we may boast in theory, it cannot exist in fact while [arbitrary tax] assessments continue.” — http://fff.org/explore-freedom/article/the-sordid-history-of/

DODD – FRANK is just as bad as Obamacare – “The FSOC’s designation has a direct impact on those large insurance companies designated as systemically important. But, it also has an indirect impact on smaller insurance firms that now have to compete against large insurers that will now have the explicit backing of the federal government. Dodd-Frank has exacerbated too-big-to-fail by making it a permanent fixture of the insurance industry. – The impact of Obamacare has clearly manifested itself over the past two months. The Dodd-Frank legislation is being implemented at a slower pace, but the result is the same. It’s just a matter of time before bad legislation turns into market chaos.” — http://www.independent.org/newsroom/article.asp?id=4828
